Gerald Carter, MSW, Youth & Family Therapist

Gerald Carter began providing services with Connections Inc. as a Youth & Family Therapist in 2014. Gerald received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2003 and his Masters of Social Work in 2014 from IUPUI. Prior to joining our agency, Gerald worked for 16 years with the Indiana Department of Corrections. He specialized in crisis intervention, behavior supports, and program development with the DOC. Gerald has worked as a Youth Service Officer, Correctional Field Officer, and a Parole Agent with youth and adults with mental health concerns and sexually maladaptive behaviors. As a parole agent, Gerald supervised adult sex offenders for 9 years and conducted workshops & life skill classes for individuals being released from correctional facilities. Overall, Gerald enjoys working in difficult environments and looks forward to supporting children and families in crisis at Connections.
