GeneSight Psychotropic Assessment

The GeneSight Psychotropic Assessment is a personalized, science-based tool designed to help guide mental health treatment. Using a simple genetic test, it analyzes how an individual’s unique genetic makeup may affect their response to certain psychiatric medications. This information can help providers identify which medications are likely to be most effective and which may cause unwanted side effects, supporting safer, more precise treatment decisions.

By combining genetic insights with clinical expertise, the GeneSight assessment empowers clients and their care teams to make informed choices, reduce trial-and-error prescribing, and optimize treatment outcomes. This service is especially beneficial for individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, or other mental health conditions who are seeking more personalized and effective medication strategies. At Connections, Inc., our goal is to use innovative tools like GeneSight to provide exceptional, data-driven patient healthcare and medication management. Pediatric Behavior Consultation Services

Our Pediatric Behavior Consultation Services take an innovative, trauma-responsive approach to helping young children and teens (ages 2–18) heal, grow, and thrive after difficult life experiences. We recognize that challenging behaviors are often expressions of unmet needs or past trauma—not problems to be punished, but feelings and communications to be understood. Our team closely partners with families to uncover the “why” behind these behaviors and co-create practical, strengths-based strategies that build emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence in both children and caregivers.

Through real-life coaching and collaborative support focused on safety and recovery, we help families navigate challenges like emotional outbursts, transitions, communication struggles, and school-related concerns with consistency and clarity. We also coordinate with school administrators, teachers, and other providers to ensure a unified, supportive approach across home, school, and community environments. The result is a more stable, connected home where children feel safe, understood, and empowered to succeed—emotionally, socially, and behaviorally.  (Home-based casework referrals will be accepted for this service.)

Psychiatry / Medication Management

Our Outpatient Psychiatry and Medication Management services offer flexible, virtual and in-person care for children, teens, and adults. We provide psychiatric evaluations, screenings, testing, and medication management to address common conditions such as ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, ODD, and mood disorders. We also maintain urgent appointment availability to support improved stability and daily functioning when needed.

Additionally, we incorporate GeneSight testing as part of a personalized, data-driven approach to medication management when appropriate. This pharmacogenetic test analyzes how an individual’s genetic profile may impact their response to psychiatric medications, helping providers identify options that are more likely to be effective and better tolerated. GeneSight results are used alongside clinical evaluation, symptom tracking, and patient history to guide medication selection and adjustments. This approach helps reduce trial-and-error prescribing, minimize side effects, and support faster stabilization and improved health outcomes.

These assessments may also support forensic or legal matters and typically include formal testing, a mental status examination, psychosocial history, diagnostic impressions, and treatment recommendations.
